Part of why we do what we do is because we want you to save time in processes and leave aside all the manual work and that starts by adopting habits that help you speed up your daily tasks.
Start out simple
If you are brand new to using shortcuts start with the most general uses of your keyboard. For example, when you are in a product line, you can use Tab to go from one field to the next, using the arrows Up and Down to scroll through product lines, pressing the Question Mark key (?) to open shortcuts and the dot (.) key to open the search engine.
Learn a few shortcuts every week
There are tons of keyboard shortcuts that you can use in the system and there’s no need for you to try to learn all of them at once. Learn and apply the shortcuts that you would be most likely to use first and once you’ve gotten a handle on those, move on to more complex ones.
Be selective to your role
Again, information overload is truly unnecessary. When you start building up on your shortcut practices, be sure to do so only with the ones that truly matter to you and to your role. For example, if you are in procurement you might be interested in learning about the Bulk Mode keyboard shortcuts particularly or how to massively update prices with keyboard shortcuts, but if you are in sales, you might want to look more into the lines of using keyboard shortcuts in Order Entry or Vendor Availability shortcuts.
Be careful with your caps
Our keyboard shortcuts tend to be case sensitive and are, sometimes, adapted only to one tab or screen. So before trying it out and getting frustrated because it “doesn’t work” make sure you are applying it in the correct screen and that it your caps key is on or off depending on the shortcut. Additionally, you must never have your cursor in an open field, so just be sure to click in a random spot of the screen before using them.
