The Floral Industry Is Getting Ready for the High Season

We all know that flowers are one of the most popular gifts for special dates such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, but did you know that of approximately $19.600 million dollars spent on gifts, around $2.000 million dollars are spent on flowers? The amount of money spent on flowers is expected to grow year after year. This, of course, means busier floral holidays and everyone needs to get ready. The high season starts on different dates for each of the different industry key players, but Komet is always there to help, no matter the date. Let’s look at the importance of being prepared for these holidays and how Komet also gets ready to help you.

Do You Know When the Floral High Season Begins?

As we were mentioning, each floral industry key player gets ready for the high floral season differently:

  • The whole process begins with our growers, who plant the products three months prior to being exported (maybe more). Generally, the high season for the grower starts a month before the floral holiday and ends around ten days before the date; by this time the product has already been exported.
  • The importer purchases all of the product needed from their vendors or growers a month before the floral holiday. The idea is to have enough product, anticipating their clients’ needs. The floral high season ends more or less on the same week of the holiday.
  • Lastly, the floral high season that we know is coming to an end, the same date of Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, among others. The wholesalers sell these flowers and products to the final customers, this high season can last up to a week after the holiday.
